Dr. Roland Salchow is the Head of the "Marine Section - Co-ordinating and Planning" at the German Federal Maritime Hydrographic Agency (BSH); Director and Professor as well as Chairman of the International Committee for Assessment and Monitoring (ASMO) for the Northeast Atlantic and the North Sea. Since 1978 he has been a member of the Hamburg State Parliament and since 1995 Vice-Chairman of the Christian Democratic Party Group as well as Vice-Chairman of the Federal Committee for Environment. He holds a PhD in Solid State Physics.
Mr. Apichai Sunchindah is currently Assistant Director for Environment at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia. He has twenty years of experience in managing development cooperation projects in the ASEAN countries funded by various donor agencies. He holds a Masters of Science degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the USA.
Dr. Danilo C. Israel is Research Fellow at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), a government thinktank. Before joining PIDS, he served as head of the economics and policy research sections of the Philippine Rice Research Institute and the Southeast Asian Fisheries Research Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD). Dr. Israel holds an M.A. in International Economics degree from the University of the Philippines and a Ph.D. in Resource Economics degree from Clemson University, South Carolina, USA. He was also a recipient of a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Manuel Gaspay is Associate Professor at the Asian Institute of Management. He has also been Director of the Environment Management Bureau of the Philippines and has worked on numerous ADB and other international agency projects. He holds a Phd in Development Economics from Stanford University California.
